West Island Karate ® and Karaté de L'Île are martial arts schools located in Île-Perrot, Quebec, Canada. The dojo (school) was founded by Shihan John Kalaidopoulos (5th Dan) in 1997. West Island Karate / Karaté de L'Île hosts an annual Karate Championship, our annual tournament for juniors and adults which is one of the premier events of its kind in Canada. We teach Kyokushin Karate the traditional way in a friendly, family-oriented environment with an emphasis on technique, physical fitness, and the building of the mind and spirit. While always having fun and being challenged, our students learn much more than a respected martial art and self-defense.
